Mobile Marketing Up, Dow Jones Down…Is Anyone Getting Dizzy Yet?

Mogreet’s friend and contender, Augme, is on a buying spree. With the market falling 512 points at the close today, Augme’s opening bell announcement about acquiring Hipcricket, in addition to JAGTAG last month, is actually a welcome sign of strong growth and opportunity in mobile marketing and mobile advertising.

That said, I feel for our clients, a great many of whom are publicly traded companies with the added pressure of growing mobile revenue under the microscope in an unstable economy. With analysts predicting that now through 2014 we’ll see tremendous (and magnificently absurd if true), growth in mobile video advertising, it is helpful to have comrades offering some clarity and consolidation to the “new” yet “pertinent” arena of mobile marketing.

It’s interesting for us cats and kittens at Mogreet – who deliver 70% of the MMS messages in the U.S. – to see how the SMS, QR, and Mobile App contingent expand and/or consolidate their repertoire of mobile offerings to remain competitive.

Dizziness aside, a rising tide floats all boats.
